Baptism

A Sacrament of Christian Initiation!

Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons and daughters of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: “Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1213)

Congratulations on the birth of your child!

We warmly welcome the new addition to your family – to our Parish family also.

Bookings for your child’s Baptism are made by contacting the Parish Priest, Fr Wahid Riad directly.

Choosing your child’s Godparents.

Only one godparent is necessary, although you may have two – one male and one female. The godparent(s) must be Catholics who have received the Sacrament of Confirmation.
It is preferable that the godparents attend the ceremony. However, if a nominated godparent may not be able to attend, a proxy godparent may stand in for the nominated godparent at the baptism.

The grace of the sacrament of Matrimony.

1661 The sacrament of Matrimony signifies the union of Christ and the Church. It gives spouses the grace to love each other with the love with which Christ has loved his Church; the grace of the sacrament thus perfects the human love of the spouses, strengthens their indissoluble unity, and sanctifies them on the way to eternal life (cf. Council of Trent: DS 1799)

Adult Initiation

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is held Sundays after Mass at 12 Noon in the Buckley Room. All adults interested in the Catholic faith are very welcome to join the journey towards the Easter Vigil. All welcome.

Funerals

“St Mary’s Parish welcomes all to share a faith in a loving God revealed in Jesus. We reach out in love and service so all may experience the gift of Christ’s message of reconcilliation, peace, and hope.”
